THIS CLASS IS AT THEATRE SKAM'S "FOREST ROOM" STUDIO ON 846 BROUGHTON ST. This class is invitation only. Garden City Improv's Game of the Scene class is a prerequisite for admission. The Harold is the signature long form of Chicago's venerable iO (formerly Improv Olympic) theater. Group work is at the heart of all great entertainment today and The Harold is a structure that makes improvised art that much more accessible.
Led by an improviser who studied with the people who created the form, this intensive will focus on openings (where we source our content for the show), group games (where we expand on those themes and ideas discovered through openings) and, of course, solid scenework.
This is not a comedy class. It's a class on how to create an improvised piece of theater right here, right now.
This one-day intensive will take place on Saturday, November 8th from 1-5pm.
