Narrative Longform Improv with Becky Johnson

Ready to take your longform improv into fully-realized narrative shows? The time is now! This course, aimed at advanced participants, breaks down some of the tools used for building longer interwoven story threads. We will tackle physical embodiment, collectively creating story structures on the fly and laying the groundwork to sustain improv sets of up to an hour (with thoughts towards even longer pieces!) The focus here with be on building the core skills that strengthen commitment to character, embodied theatricality and group construction of forms towards sustaining long and gripping story arcs.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Becky Johnson is a veteran of the Canadian comedy and theatre scene with over 30 years experience. She is an alumna of the Toronto Second City Mainstage. She has created and toured her original improvised and scripted works internationally, bringing her voice in improvisation to stages in New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Vienna, Berlin…
