Advanced Improv Classes

The Longform Program is designed for experienced improvisers ready to take their craft to the next level.

 

Through focused training in game of the scene and the legendary Harold structure, you'll develop advanced skills used at The Second City, iO, and Upright Citizens Brigade.

Program Overview

Longform 1
Game of the Scene

Sharpen your instincts, heighten patterns, and lock in on what makes a scene hilarious and satisfying.

 

With clear tools and fast-paced reps, you’ll learn to spot the funny, heighten it, and build comedic momentum.

Prerequisites: Improv 301 or equivalent​​

Longform 2
The Harold 

The Harold is a signature improv longform technique from Chicago's venerable iO theatre (formerly Improv Olympic).

 

In this class you will learn openings, group games and advanced scenework that anchors the Harold, from someone who studied with the creators of the form.  ​
