Through progressive training in sketch structure, collaborative writing, and comedic premise development, you'll learn to craft original comedy and bring your funniest ideas to life!

Program Overview

Sketch Comedy 101:
Sketch Foundations
In this class you will learn the basics of sketch comedy writing. Time in class will be used to generate unique premises, from which you will write your own sketches!
You will learn:

How to pitch your sketch
Prerequisites: None

Sketch Comedy 201:
Show Creation
This course dives deeper into developing a full-length sketch comedy show.
You’ll learn how to pitch ideas with clarity and confidence, write lyrics for comedic songs, create interactive audience pieces, and explore sketch structures that break the rules.
Students who complete Sketch 201 will be considered for future Garden City Improv sketch comedy shows. Participation does not guarantee placement in performances.
Prerequisites: Sketch 101 or equivalent
